Etsy is, imho, the premier online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods.
It’s quite user friendly, so I was able to open my shop and get my first few items listed fairly easily! I am *not* very tech/computer savvy, so this is important!
It’s just .20 US to list an item which lasts until it is sold, or 4 months. 5% fees on the sales and shipping amount, and a payment processing fee if you use Etsy’s checkout. That is relatively cost effective, considering the potential traffic Etsy can bring you!
My Etsy shop has grown slowly but steadily, and in the last 30 days I have had 2,508 visits. That is up 108% from this time last year! Etsy still brings me 54% of that traffic, so it is still beneficial to me to stay at Etsy for the timebeing, rather than develop a standalone website.
If you’re creative and want to start selling your handcrafted work online, I suggest Etsy as a great platform.
